Who am I?

If you want to discover who you are, get away from the hustle and bustle and be alone with yourself for a moment. Pay attention to silence but do not be afraid of it, because you are that silence.
Even though the thoughts happen, be still.

You will realize that you will not be able to control those thoughts because there is no one there to control them. That “I” is another thought. If you remain calm and at peace, you will be able to consciously realize that the breath in that physical body is happening, the heart is beating, the pulse is happening, it is the movement of life doing its work.

Are you doing all that? Of course not. There is no one with a name there, only an intelligent entity capable of doing all that without “you” intervening. That which is happening is you in relation to everything that occurs naturally in the universe.

It’s the way you function. The I does not exist, therefore, you do not exist as such. Everything that is there is a purely physiological phenomenon, a living organism called the physical body doing its natural function of survival. That’s it, don’t fool yourself.

Whenever you think that you are this or that defined by a name, a title, a possession, it is a superficial label, a thought, an idea, a belief. While you are not aware of this manifestation of life, you will continue to live in an illusory field full of conflicts and violence.

However, if we want to live smartly and healthily we have to accept that reality even when it is superficial. Society has taught us to live that way from the moment we arrived on this wonderful planet. But we must not reject or separate from our own natural essence of life. It is our root, without it we would not be here.

We must therefore approach it with gratitude and appreciation. Division, misfortune, suffering, violence, were not created by that physiological organism where there is only peace and silence. All other external experiences were created by thought, unconsciously managed by that egocentric and superficial SELF.
